A lot has happened since my last post. We took a break from many events in our community. Severing ties is never easy and it takes time to get used to a loss in your life, even if the loss was for the better. People will never see eye to eye on issues. When tough times come, you learn a lot about people in stressful situations. That’s when you can really see who people are deep down inside. It also shows who you can keep close and who you need to distance yourself from.
So much of our relationship and my 10+ years in this community have been in service to this community. When you back away, your focus changes. My focus has changed to more time at home and work. Work is work and will always be work. I love my career. Home is our space. We have what makes us happy. We love our neighbors, we love our yard, we love being together here - all three of us.
We do still have our parts of the Austin community that we are committed to. AgoL is my space. I love my girls. Lily Ma'am is busy working with Brame's Educator's Directory, http://bededucators.gloriabrame.com/. BbD is spot’s place and we support them in their space. I have been making more time for Austin subCulture. It was one of the first groups I attended in this community. Having a place for submissive space is super important. We also have new friends and places to venture to, like FreakShow and Shrine. We do get out and about sometimes. The focus is different, but we are still the same people with the same values. Austin might have changed, but we are still here to support it.
