anxiety/PTSD

For those close to me, it is no secret that my childhood was exceptionally hard and left many scars.  It is amazing how things of the past take shape in our lives today. What happened 40 years ago is in the past, but sometimes the past haunts us when we least expect it.

For the past 12 years i have lived with a diagnosis of Generalized Anxiety Disorder.  Five years ago, PTSD was added to the mix.  i have good help in this area and i encourage others who struggle to get help.  Many years ago i earned a degree in psychology.  All of the education in the world cannot cure the storm that can occur.

My advice is this - you are responsible for you just as i am responsible for me.  What works for me will not necessarily work for you.  i have to live with myself and the choices i have made, as do you.  Find what works.  Don't settle.  Do the absolute best you can to take care of yourself.  Read.  Ask questions.  Ask for help if you need it.  Continue to live your life to the fullest.
